We now wish to expand our existing and well established North American market with a local Sales Manager.


AME is a pre-eminent and international consulting firm with 40 years of global experience and a rapid growth profile We provide both consulting services and offer a range of "world's best practice" industry research. Our clientele is in international mining, banking, fund management and the equities sector. Even given these turbulent times we are growing and thus keen to build our skilled team which includes market specialists, economists, accountants, professional engineers, metallurgists, geologists, chemists/scientists and computer programmers.


This new senior role, will be based in (or close to) Toronto, Canada or New York, US. It will report to our Global Marketing Director with the principal intention to lift our considerable reputation within the mining sectors of the major banks/institutions (corporate advisory, funds management, project finance and equity research). The role requires you to organize a local serviced office and then build our client relationships, attend conferences and occasionally visit operations. Thus, you will need to travel locally and internationally with most trips being short. You must enjoy the challenge of working in different professional environments. More specifically it would help if you have:


  • A demonstrable interest and knowledge in metals, mining and the energy industries within the financial institutions.
  • Strong networking, negotiating and relationship management skills plus the ability to influence senior level decision makers.
  • A proven successful track record of managing new high value sales and ability to lift the revenue base from our existing clients.
  • A hands-on approach with the ambition and the drive to meet profit targets.
  • A second language or considerable exposure to other business cultures.


You should have at least 10+ years' professional experience in a similar professional services firm, financial institution, investment bank, trading firm or mining company. To enjoy our environment it helps if you have solid academic qualifications, a genuine flair for sales and research, an existing contact network, excellent English and the ability/willingness to present our views to a senior and sophisticated audience. We offer a competitive remuneration package based on performance.


Initial training for several weeks will be conducted in North America, and then for a further fortnight in our offices in Sydney, Australia.
